Founder & President of Measday Land Surveying & Mapping
President of Measday Land Surveying & Mapping, founded in 2022
After receiving my B.S. in Surveying Engineering Technology and graduating Magna Cum Laude from Alfred State College in December 2009, I continued working at O’Neill-Rodak Land Surveying Associates. I quickly climbed the ladder from being a Survey Technician to becoming a Crew Leader and Draftsman within the first few years of my employment. The company had not yet been using GPS for any survey projects, so I introduced the concept and implemented it as a company-wide application, which significantly increased our efficiency.
I then obtained my Professional Land Surveying License with the State of New York in December of 2013 and following that milestone I was promoted to Vice President within about 6 months. As the Vice President, I managed a large portion of the day-to-day operations by supervising multiple crews and organizing their jobs accordingly. At the same time, I designed and created maps for lot subdivisions and easements, processed all the FEMA Flood Elevation requests we received, and reviewed maps before signing and delivering them to our clients.
In addition, I started teaching Surveying Practicum as an Adjunct Professor at Alfred State College in the spring semester of 2016. This allows me to mentor students in my chosen field. I have created a work-simulated atmosphere to prepare them for the surveying profession by guiding them, reinforcing surveying fundamentals, and offering thought-provoking real-world projects and assignments.
Land Surveying is so much more than just a job for me — I enjoy the field work, I enjoy teaching others about the profession, and — being the puzzle-nerd that I am — I enjoy interpreting and solving discrepancies in really old deeds. I love doing what I do, and because of that I am involved in many facets of my profession: I previously sat on the Board of Directors of the Genesee Valley Land Surveyors Association (GVLSA) from 2015 to 2017, I am currently a member of the Advisory Board for Surveying & Geomatics Engineering Technology at SUNY Alfred, and I am a continuing member of the New York State Association of Professional Land Surveyors (NYSAPLS).
In my spare time, I am usually playing with one of several musical groups around the Rochester area. I currently serve as a member of the Board of Directors for Neighborhood Acting Company (NAC), which is a non-profit theater group, and I am the Director of Communications for the East Rochester Fire Department Marching Band. To date, I have performed in over 30 pit orchestras and have been marching in parades for over 22 years.
I am now the President of my own company, Measday Land Surveying & Mapping, and sincerely look forward to helping you with any surveying or mapping needs you may have. We truly appreciate the opportunity to serve you!
